Hi ladies, I usually post on GP and recently on IF. I just had my first cycle of IVF and we did the ET today. We had 15r, 10m, and 7 fertilized (half ICSI half natural). Things were going great on day 3 and day 4 but today on day 5 only one made it to blast. I know all you need is 1 but I was hopeful we would have 2. It was an early blastocyst and too early to grade.
Has anyone had success with an early blast? Just trying to stay positive. Thanks!
Re: IVF success with an early blast?
Me! With both of my cycles, we had awesome looking embryos until the morning of day five. We would get one that was okay, but the rest would just slow down and start failing. On the day of my successful transfer, we were told we would be transferring two blasts, a cavitating morula and a "fair" (excellent, good, fair, and poor were the grading categories) blast. Minutes before transfer, the embryologist came in to say our morula was now an early blast (too early to be graded) and our "fair" embryo was upgraded to "good." I am now pregnant with twins!
I remember being so worried because of the embryo grades. I was convinced our cycle had no shot. But, it worked! Best of luck with your cycle. Hope to see you on the board in two weeks

Our perfect baby boys were born at 36w1d!!
My baby was an early blast on day 5. We transferred 3, they were all graded, but weren't expanded. So it can work! Good luck
