Baby Name: Mila

I really love the name Mia, but it is so popular.  So, I have thought about using Mila instead (pronounced ME-LA).  Thoughts?

I really like both Mia and Mila.

Though it IS less popular, I would anticipate Mila jumping up the charts. It seems like a lot of people like it, and Mila Kunis has a growing fan base. Still, I doubt it'll break into the Top 10 any time soon.

This!  I love both Mia and Mila.  So if you're choosing Mila over Mia for popularity reasons, might as well go with Mia if you love it more.

Mila is really nice, I much prefer it over Mia.  But it's going to jump up this year because lots of other people are thinking the same thing.  In fact it's suggested so often on here that I'm almost over it.

I have liked Mia for a LONG time and Mila for a little over a year.

But once I read somewhere that Kourtney Kardashian was going to name her daughter Mila but switched last minute to Penelope, I did immediately think that it was going to rise in popularity.

Kourtney was never going to name her baby Mila. She had the name Penelope picked since she was pregnant with Mason & he was not a she lol. So I wouldn't worry about that. I love Mia btw

Actually I am pretty sure on one of their shows Kourtney did say she was thinking about naming her kid Mila.  Thank God she didn't.  I don't watch the Kartrashians but my sister does and it was a very upsetting day when she called to tell me what she heard!

I love it! I think it will rise in popularity because of Mila Kunis, but it's still an unpopular name, so I don't expect it to go too high up. I wouldn't worry about it being popular on the bump. I think there are a lot of names that are popular on here and not IRL. I wish DH would be on board with this name because I really like it.

This has been my girl name since DH and I were dating, like 5 years ago!  I read it in a book I was reading at the time, and mentioned it to (now) DH, and it stuck.  It has always been our girl name.  We'll see if #2 is a girl and we can finally use it!  I hope it doesn't get too popular
