AW- 2 month check up

My rockstar went from 3 lbs 5 oz at birth to 8 lbs 1 oz in 2 months!!!!! Everything looks great and he's been cleared by every specialist. So we don't go back until his 4 month check up. Wow!!!! 

 

The only issue is that he has an umbilical hernia. Does anyone have any experience with these?

That's so awesome! My little girl has an umbilical hernia, but it's pretty much closed up now.  As she grows it is closing up.  Her pedi said that they usually wait until they are 3 or 5 years old before they do a surgery since it usually closes on its own. Inguinal (groin) hernias, however, are more serious and need surgery much sooner.

Thanks guys! It doesn't seem to bother him and they said we will just keep watching it. I'm hoping we can avoid surgery but that's still a while off before we know. For now I'll just call him squishy (ew I hate that sound)

No experience with umbilical hernia, but just wanted to say that it's awesome that your LO is doing so well!

yay!! my DD has umbilical hernia. it's slowly going away on it's own. i hate the sound of it too!

Congrats on the great appointment! DD also has an umbilical hernia. Her pedi said it should correct itself so we would just keep an eye on it, but have no plans to correct it unless it gets worse.
