Cloth Diapering

Best Liners? (Do you use them, and what kind?)

We're starting with prefolds for our NB, and I'm curious about liners.  I'd assume that with regular changing during the day, she'll stay dry enough (though I could be wrong), but I wonder about nights (I guess this only applies after she's not waking regularly to be fed/changed).

Do you use liners?  When?  What kind?  Are you only using them if your LO shows some kind of fussiness over being wet, or if he's prone to rash?

We're using all organic diapering materials-- are there organic liners?

Thanks!

  • We use fleece liners. I just bought a yard of fleece from Hobby Lobby, for about $7, with a coupon, it was only about $3, and cut it into 5x10ish strips. We use them every diaper change, because they are cheap, we have a ton, and it keeps DDs bum dry.

  • We didn't use liners at all for the NB stage.  You have to change them so often because of the constant pooping, that it really didn't matter.  You do want to make sure their bums are completely dry before you put the CD on, and give them some naked bum time every day.

We use fleece liners ON inside out fitteds along with the grovia magic stick as a preventative since she is in her diaper so long.  We also use liners ontop of her diapers when we go out to make poo clean up easier.

The only organic liners I know of are 100% raw silk.
