DH vent!

My DH works shifts, and for the past 4 nights, was at work and out of the house a LOT!  Yesterday, we had a family function about 40 minutes from where we live.  We were in separate cars because he met me there.  As we were packing up to head home I asked which car he wanted to take (we have an SUVto cart LO around in and a Mazda that the car seat doesn't fit well in).  DH replied, "I'll take the Mazda.  I took LO home last time."  SERIOUSLY?!  He drove our son home, the same distance, a week ago, and he doesn't want to drive him home this time, because he did it last time?!  I was like, "I only have him 24/7, and don't need the break...but it's fine.  I'll take him!"  Grrrr!

  • I know this probably isn't what you want to here, but don't give him a choice. Tell him you need a break and ask him to drive LO home. You can't always expect your husband to think of your feelings, although it'd be nice if he did.

  • I'd be annoyed too. Sometimes we need a break.. even if it is something like driving somewhere by ourselves.

I run errands all the time when my H gets home from work to get some alone time.
