On Fb yesterday, Parents Magazine asked "How did you come up with your child's name?" Last time I checked, there were about 700 responses, and some of them were ah-mazing.

My favorites?

Journee Nevaeh

Jy'den "because Jayden is too popular."

Sibset: Xavion and Drayden "to put a twist on Xavier and Jayden."

Atom "because Adam is too common."

I gave my kids names from the bible, Noah and Nevaeh.

My favorite, We used Jaxon before Michael Jackson.  Ok, that baby is one so love to know how they chose it before him...

There was a woman named Leigh whose husband was named Kyle. They named their daughter Kyleigh. Obviously.

This made me laugh because she felt the need to distinguish that her husband is human. =P

I don't think Atom is bad though compared to some of those names on there.

A'Dreamer and Reasons are my favorite.

I'm amazed at how many people get their names by combining the father and mother's name. That's not cute.

Dude, she said the name Atom is the one name she can't stop giggling about. She's not giggling at you. Deep breaths.

It's easy to misread things over the internet. Sorry. I don't like the reasoning behind naming a kid Atom, I just thought overall it isn't so crazy. Like A'Dreamer o_O

Here's my favorite of those that I read:

 

" His dad & I had I deal: I get to pick if the name starts with a J (like his own). SO.. our son's first name is in honor of my great-grandparents' (sirname Jackson) but it's spelled Jaxon (in honor of himself lol... unique to him). His middle name is in honor of his grandfather (whose middle name is Wesley). But it's spelled Wesleigh (again, so that it's still uniquely his own) "
