SAHM.

Does anyone else feel like their kid(s) wreck the house on purpose??

With in the past 30 minutes while I have been trying to cook my kids have managed or tried  to empty out the silverware drawer, the Tupperware drawer, all the toy bins that are in their closet (which was locked until Miles figured out how to take off the kid safety latches). TORNADO.

I can't figure out how to stop it. I try redirecting, time out (for Miles) if he doesn't pick up his toys when I ask him to, I have taken all toys but a small bin at a time to play with... NOTHING.. seems to work. I know that they are going to be messy but I seriously believe they do it to get a rise out of me. DD just smiled at me while throwing _shit out of the Tupperware drawer. I was washing my hands (I was cutting pork) but she still managed to take everything out in that breif 30 seconds.

TV is on for like 30  minutes while I cook but they don't care about it.

  • Yes, I feel like my son does this now and he is only 13 months. Glad to know I have this to look forward to for a long time. The kitchen is what drives me crazy the most. He has broken most of the safety locks and dumps all of my stuff out 10x per day. Aw!

  • Yes. I get it everyday. The days I work and days I SAH. The days I work, the house is a mess because I don't have time to pick up before I leave and DH doesn't pick up when he's home w/ DD. The days I SAH, I am constantly picking shit up. DD figured out the child locks in the kitchen and bathroom, so woke up to baby powder dumped all over the bathroom and shit everywhere on Sunday.  The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result. DD has made me insane because I pick up the same shit over and over.

  • Yep.  I think she does it on purpose when she knows I'm too busy doing something to do much about it.  I've tried it all too, but she only wants to do what she's not supposed to be doing.
  • Yep and I HATE it. It took me an extra 2 hours to clean up last night because DS not only took everything out of every drawer but also put food in the dvd player and hid various things like my watch and my phone.

Drives me up the wall. One of the major reasons I really do not like being a SAHM.
