From August 2012 and C Section Boards

Hi Ladies,I am new to these boards.  I've lurked from time to time, but have never really posted. I'm due August 18th, however DD is breech and I'm having a scheduled C Section this coming Monday.  I'm very nervous.  My DS is 18 years old (Really starting over) and he came out vaginally in 2 pushes, so I don't know what to expect with a C Section. I'm also nervous about her hips and legs when she will be born from what I've read about Frank Breech babies (Google is definitely not my friend) lol.  You ladies seem like wonderful support, so any advice from any breech C Section mommies would be appreciated. Thanks and congrats to all of the recently new mommies.

  • I don't really have any advice, but I thought I'd just let you know I'm in the same boat.  My son is 13, and he was born vaginally.  This LO is complete breech.  My OB is going to be trying a cephalic external version to try to flip baby on the 20th and if this doesn't work, we'll schedule the c/s.  Hope everything goes well for you!

  • I'm in the same boat. I had DD vaginally so the thought of a C-section is unsettling to me. I had a version yesterday to try to turn her and it was unsuccessful so I am being scheduled for a C-section now. Just remember that the key is to get the baby out without harm to you or her and the end result is the same. A happy healthy baby!

Just wanted to wish you luck, and stay away from Google! :)

  • A c/s isn't that bad! Stay up on your pain meds, get out of bed and start walking as soon as you can, and take it easy! I had an excellent recovery from my first c/s....very sore at first but I felt back to normal at 2 weeks pp!!! Good luck!!!!

  • I had a pretty good experience with my c/s. DS wasn't breech, I just wasn't dilating past 6 cm. I really had no idea what I was going into. I was in college and I didn't read up as much as I should have, but I have no complaints. I was in and out of the OR in about 45 min. My recovery was easy. I didn't even take all my pain meds. I made sure I got up and walked around as soon as I could. For what it's worth, I have a RCS scheduled for Oct 3 and I'm so excited! I'm positive that everything is going to go just fine.

I agree with this completely. I have had 2 c/s and having my 3rd next month. Take your medication regularly, ask for help when you need it and definitely get up and moving as soon as you can!
