This pregnancy I'm currently on progesterone supplements for another few weeks and I think they're the cause of my massive bloat and super sore/sensitive boobs. I have a few weeks off after this before starting the 17p, but I was wondering if anyone here had side effects from it. I would deal with sore boobs the whole time if it meant a healthy, full term baby, but I'd REALLY prefer not to. :-)

Re: 17p side effects?
*im just lurking here in preparation*
With my weekly injections, I sometimes experience burning at the site, and usually end up with a small bruise and tenderness. A few times, I've felt faint or extremely tired after a shot, but not often. My nurse that comes to do them has me ice up about 10-15 mins prior and that really helps. I also have a cold cup of juice immediately after just to help me calm down.
I will say compared to the IM injections I received while in L&D this week for a PTL scare, the weekly 17p injections are much better IMO.
Did you get the steroid shots? I only had 1 before DD decided to make her entrance, but that burned a bit.
Thanks for sharing - I don't mind burning or tenderness at all! I would just love if my boobs would stop growing and hurting. Great idea about the ice. I'm going to ask my neighbor to give them to me, so I'll try the ice trick and hopefully it will help.

No, I haven't had the steroid shots, have heard they aren't fun though.
Seriously, the ice really makes it much better for me. Good luck with yours!
I was on progesterone suppositories through 12 weeks this pregnancy, and I had all sorts of side effects from them almost immediately - increased nausea, sore boobs, sinus problems - it felt like they heightened all my pregnancy symptoms times 10.
I started the 17p shots this past week at 16 weeks, and so far my only complaints are about the injections and not the side effects. The progesterone suppositories were so gross and were twice a day, and as much as I dread my husband giving me weekly shots, they are almost better for the 5 minutes of pain once a week than the twice daily suppositories. I second the suggestion from the PP - I put an ice pack on the site before the injection, and then I rub a warm, damp washrag on the site afterward to dissipate the oil and soothe the pain. It's not fun while it's happening, but it's fine shortly after. No other side effects so far like sore boobs :-)
Thank you for making me feel less crazy!! I know I wasn't this bloated/gassy with DD, and my boobs are soooooooo bad. They hurt when I go up/down stairs. I've also felt more nausea than I did with DD, but guess that can be explained by it as well.
I'm on pills that I use vaginally but they're just getting so tiresome and gooey. And you know what's even more frustrating? I haven't even had my progesterone TESTED. They refuse to do it and I have no idea why, so I could be subjecting myself to this for nothing.
I definitely would prefer slight site pain than this overall gross feeling. I've been such a blob over the past week or so, thank goodness my H is on vacation, too!
Thank you, ladies! I'm looking forward to getting off these pills.

I was on weekly 17p shots during my second pregnancy. I actually only ever had soreness for a day or so, depending on if I laid on my left or right side. The nurse at my OB's office injected the shots in my hip, instead of upper cheek (thank goodness because one week the nurse was out and my ob inject my ass and it hurt like hell for two days). Every other week she would switch sides, which helped too. I never iced the area though before the injections.
I did receive the steroids for DD#2 and it did hurt, burning feeling.
