Has anyone seen it?  ...or read it? 

I planned to read it, but caved to the movie last night. 

There were three components that tugged on the heart strings for me.  It touched on the struggles of infertility and that clearly hits home.  Any film based on the Holocaust always affects me, emotionally. Lastly, the take away was to tell your story.

To tell your story made me think of the child I wish to have and story I wish to share.  My struggles.  My joy.  My journey.  My life...leading up to becoming a Mother.  I want my story to be known and passed on and that may not happen, if treatment fails us. 

I don't mean to make this a sad post.  I did enjoy the movie and I wanted to pass it along, if anyone is looking for something to add to their Netflix queue.  It isn't rainbows and butterflies.  It is a drama, but a good one...in my opinion.

If not catching a movie of some sort this weekend...what are you up to? 

DH and I will be hiding indoors with the air condioner cranked up.  There is a heat wave (100+ degrees!) this weekend and I will not be attempting to brave it.  Yuck!

I red the book, and thought it was quite good.

I read the book and saw the movie.  I LOVED the book and the movie was not bad.  As is often the case, the book went into more detail and had a richer story.  I don't remember the IF piece in the book except that she gets pregnant later in life but maybe that's because I read it five years ago and was probably clueless at that point.

I think she had given up on a 2nd, and maybe had RPL...but i read it awhile ago too.

Or, Bourne Legacy. 

Either way, theatre popcorn will be involved!

I read the book a while ago and liked it - although I liked the flashback part much better than the present-day story. I remember thinking 'oh no, not an IF storyline!' because that was really the last thing I wanted to read. But it wasn't that bad, except that she (SPOILER) does get pregnant without treatment unexpectedly.

The movie was ok; the book was a little better.

Sounds like a nice weekend...enjoy your massage and hike!  I am sure you will be having some better weather up there this weekend verses down here in the hot as heck "death zone"!  I would move to Washington in a heartbeat for the cooler weather and the general vibe, but our business keeps us here.  We often visit Seattle and the surrounding area though.  Love it up there!

Haven't read the book or seen the movie, but just wanted to add to the heat whine, if I may. Mid 90's in San Diego and no a/c. People always laugh when I complain about "heat" down here, but when it warms up and most placed don't normally have a/c (including our house!) it can get disgustingly uncomfortable!!

We usually get a couple of days in the 90s up here too, and because we only need it ~7 days out of the year, no one has ac up here either!

Possibly Christmas time! We are considering a holiday away this year and Seattle would provide good meals and cozy down time. I will keep you posted...
