Just wanted to find out if my DH or maybe a nurse would be able to take pics during the c-section? Like, when the baby comes out? This is going to be my first c-section and I'm not sure how things work.
Our hospital does not allow video to be taken in the operating rooms or the delivery rooms. It does allow as many still pictures as you desire. Some of the anesthesiologists particularly enjoy taking pictures of mom, dad, and baby. You should check with the hospital where you plan to deliver, each has its own rules.
My DH took pictures of EVERYTHING with both of my c/s. I absolutely love the pictures of my babies coming out. I could make a flip book - doctor reaching in, head emerging, then shoulders, half out, then all the way. We think they're very cool.
DH had video camera and anesthesiologist had my camera. He held camera up over curtain and took a few pics as DD was being pulled out. They are grosse pics but I am glad I have them. DH has video of her on the warming table and getting cleaned up and suctioned. Then when DH brought her to me the anesthesiologist took a picture of all 3 of us!

I would just have your DH take them and "ask forgiveness later". With my first two, DH asked and was told no, not of the surgery. With this one, my mom just started taking pics, and we got one of DD2 coming out.
We never even thought about it. Which I'm happy, if our hospital allowed it, that we didn't - she came out all purple w/ the cord wrapped around her neck twice. Then once she started breathing & all, they took her to the warming table to clean her off & literally as soon as they laid her down she started peeing & pooping (so happy we didn't have to worry about that horrible first poop! lol!). So, yeah, not exactly pictures I'd want!
Due to a medical issue I had to have general anesthesia so I was completely out and as per hospital protocol dh was unable to be in the op. However, our anesthesiologist was wonderful and took the most amazing photos for us. Good luck! It's defiantly something worth asking about!
Re: Taking pics
Lost Lilah (Audra's twin) at 26 weeks. Cause unknown. Forever in our hearts
