Anyone have hcg that won't drop?

I am concerned that my hcg is barely dropping. I had a natural m/c July 24th at 7 weeks. Ultrasound didn't show anything in my uterus. Hcg was 410 in the ER. Went 3 days later for a beta test and it was 290. I felt completely normal for a week after the bleeding stopped and thought the physical part was over. This week I started having an achy lower back and front and just haven't felt right all week. I called the dr and got an hcg test Tuesday. It was 263. So in 11 days my hcg only dropped 27 points. It is 2.5 weeks past my m/c.

Has anyone else had this problem? I go back for another blood draw on Tuesday and an ultrasound next Thursday. I am worried there is still tissue and I may have to have a d&c? I am also annoyed that I have to wait another whole week to see my ob. The nurse wouldn't say if it was normal, only that "it could be several things and that's why the dr. wants to do an ultrasound." I'm worried. I'd rather just know what those "several things" could be.

I have no clue if this has anything to do with it or not but I just learned that whichever ovary you ovulate from grows a cyst that produces hormones that are supposed to sustain the pregnancy. When I miscarried I had internal bleeding so when they did surgery they drained my cyst and my levels fell quickly after that. Sometimes after a miscarriage I have heard the cyst can hang around for a bit but don't know if that would affect the drop in levels. Hope you get answers soon. Good luck!

That is good to know, thank you for sharing that info. When I had an ultrasound in the ER the report came back with a cyst on my left ovary...sounds like that could possibly be the culprit. I will ask my doc about that when I go in next Thursday. Thank you for responding.
