Shortened Cervix

Did any of you have a shortened cervix prior to pregnancy? If so did you have any issues? I'm about to do a FET next week and am having a really hard time with the putting in one vs two. Doc suggests two but i'm am so paranoid about my shortened cervix from a prior laser surgery.  I can't help but think if we did two last time would we still have had one after loosing one.

Background: IVF#1 put in two neither took, IVF#2 put in 1 and it took but we lost it (no heartbeat at 8 weeks) but the second our quality was much higher. We are in a money back program and still have two more fresh and fet's. It's about $800 out of pocket for FET's and $1500 for IVF. Money is a slight issue as we had to take out a 20K loan for the program that we are paying and now the $1K bill for the D&C. But i'm also worried it two take and we have issues that's even more potential bills.

Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated, we are having such a hard time with this decision. Thank you!

TTC since 2008, our little miracle arrived July 2013!

Re: Shortened Cervix

  • Yes and things did not work out for me the first time (see siggy). Can you get a cerclage if you put 2 in? I put 2 in again because I got a transabdominal cerclage.
