QOTW: What are your favourite olympic events to watch on television (Summer & Winter)? Do you know anyone personally that has been an olympian...(drop some names/results if you are comfortable).
Updates or vents?
Re: PG >35 weekly check-in (really, really late...so sorry).
QOTW - Summer - Swimming, Diving, Gymnastics, Rowing, Tennis.j
Winter - Hockey (of course!), Alpine Skiing, Freestyle Skiing, Bobsled and Skeleton - these people are NUTS and Figure and Speed Skating.
Ok, so I'm an olympic-aholic. I just can't get enough. I've even watched waterpolo and weighlifting this time around.
Updates/vents- I was back at work last week after a 2w stress leave. This week I am on vacay, spending my days with my busy toddler and loving it. Tomorrow, we make another trip to the fracture clinic and hopefully he will get his cast off. These have been the longest 7w of my life. T&P please, because most kids only spend a 4 or 5 w in a cast for this type of break and DS has been in it 7w. I am so afraid that if it isn't healed tomorrow that he may require surgery...he's not even 3 years old and that thought scares the crap out of me. Please Lord, let him be healed.
On Friday I will hit Vday, which has been a super long time coming. I see my OB next on Tuesday and see the GTT in my near future!

Can't wait to find out if we are team blue or pink!
QOTW: I love gymnastics, swimming and track & field. I met a number of olympic gymnastics and track and field olympians during college. I went to UCLA....our alumni collectively have almost 250 medals!
Good to have you back. Busy is so understandable when you work two jobs.
So glad that was the only reason.
QOTW: I'm not much of a sports person ouf any kind, but figure skating is fascinating and beautiful. Vents/updates: Still annoyed by how tired I have been. breaks into my creative productivity. 6 month check up tomorrow including glucose test. Time to see if my over-active sweet tooth has been a problem.
PS. good luck with the boy's check up. hoping for his freedom!
QOTW: What are your favourite olympic events to watch on television (Summer & Winter)? Do you know anyone personally that has been an olympian...(drop some names/results if you are comfortable).
Not a big summer Olympic fan. I like the swimming and that is about it.
The winter games I love. Hockey, figure skating, skiing, bobsled, luge, it looks so easy though I know it is not, curling fascinates me, you name it I watch it.
Updates or vents?
Had my Dr appt this week. All is good. Strong heartbeat, belly measuring where it should be, have not gained much weight.
Not looking forward to having to to the Gestational test again. I did it around week 13 or so due to family history. I am glad the test will be after the state fair so I can enjoy the food there!
QOTW: What are your favourite olympic events to watch on television (Summer & Winter)? Do you know anyone personally that has been an olympian...(drop some names/results if you are comfortable). Gymnastics and ice skating
Updates or vents? Currently 5w5d and had a little brown spotting last nite. Which of course, not expecting it, was a bit disconcerting. No cramping and no more spotting this morning. Just feeling a little on edge though. Didn't sleep well last nite.
QOTW: I enjoy watching the gymnastics. I dated an olympic wrestler a few times in college but I can't remember his name
.
Updates or vents: I updated below that I finally found a doctor that I like. I did do a tour of the hospital where I will deliver. It did not go well. The woman that was doing the tour was really rude to me. She also talked about how you had to breast feed and if you did not want to or could not that you would have to have written permission from your doctor or they would not allow you to give your baby a bottle. I talked to the doctor about that because I was very concerned, I told him, after all these are not real and we don't know how it is going to work. He got very upset and said that he did not know why she would say that and it would be compeltely my choice how I would feed my baby.
I am so excited about this baby and I am ready to start shopping. However, I feel like I can't buy anything until I know if it is a boy or a girl. I am not good at waiting.
QOTW: What are your favourite olympic events to watch on television (Summer & Winter)? Do you know anyone personally that has been an olympian...(drop some names/results if you are comfortable).
I am kind of an Olymoic nut! I love to watch just about anything. Summer Olympics--gymnastics, swimming, diving, track events, water polo, soccer...
Winter Olympics-- I love ice skating, skiing events, luge, curling, ice hockey...
Updates or vents?update: check-up went well. Heard heart beat. Weight gain (only 7 pounds so far) good. Encouraged to eat a little more protein. Have my one hour glucose test on Tuesday. Next appointment in 2 weeks.
Vents: I've had a head cold since July 13th--- two rounds of amoxicillin (thinking a sinus infection) later and only cough and watery eyes gone. My sinuses are still so congested that it is hard to sleep. The drip is just gross! The sinus headache is awful and I won't bother with Tylenol because it does nothing. And one more--- my principal sent out an email that we cannot access our classrooms until August 21st! Our first day back is Aug. 29th. That gives me 8 days (really only 6 because we can't get in on Sat or Sun.) to set up an entire classroom. He "graciously" says... Well, we're opening at 6 am and I'm leaving the building open to 6pm! I won't be able to do the 12 hour days I could before I was pregnant. I am wiped--achy and sore and out of breath after 3 hours on my feet! I cant even get my computer work done at home because he hasnt released our class lists (dont know my students' names!) and doesn't plan on doing it until next week! Ugh!!!
Vent over--- thanks! : )

QOTW: What are your favourite olympic events to watch on television (Summer & Winter)? Do you know anyone personally that has been an olympian...(drop some names/results if you are comfortable). I love watching all the diving. I also like the gymnastics!
Updates or vents? I am still spotting brown. I had an appt. yesterday and am mesuring almost 3 weeks ahead. After spending the night in l&d Monday I am convinced my little guy is going to make an appearance before his due date. I just need him to cook a little longer. The Dr. told me if I go into labor they aren't going to stop it going forward. So, I ran out today and bought a nursing bra and some nursing tanks. This is so real now! I will breath a sigh of relief once I am "full" term though.
QOTW: What are your favourite olympic events to watch on television (Summer & Winter)? Do you know anyone personally that has been an olympian...(drop some names/results if you are comfortable).
I love watching volley ball in the summer and also gymnastics. In the winter I like figure skating and the ski jump thing.
Updates or vents?
We made it to WA and have been here for a week. We are house hunting and it is kind of stressful. Until we find one we are in temp housing and I am so ready to have our stuff. Especially my son's toys!
I did find a new OB and my first visit with her is 8/23 and I can't wait! My NT scan came back very good and I am so happy about that. Guess that's it for now:)

Before I answer and no judgement, I know you've been swamped... I was wondering what happened to congrats for any July moms?
QOTW: What are your favourite olympic events to watch on television (Summer & Winter)? Do you know anyone personally that has been an olympian...(drop some names/results if you are comfortable). I like to watch gymnastics, swimming, and track. But I'll confess I just record everything and quickly scan and watch. I don't watch all of it or even all of each sport I even like. In the winter I like ice skating.
Updates or vents? I posted about my appt already so I will just recap: I had my 34 week US/scan. Baby boy is healthy, estimated at 5lbs 12oz.
My OB wants me to watch my weight, and my Perninatologist wants me to stay off my feet.
Vent: I'm really bothered by people's rudeness. What is it about pregnant ladies that people turn their filters off? I've had people tell me, "wow you're big!" and more than one asked if I was having twins and when I said no, one lady actually told me she thinks my dr. missed something. I'll admit I'm not thin and wasn't before pregnancy either (5'4, size 12) but to make these comments is beyone the pale.
QOTW: What are your favourite olympic events to watch on television (Summer & Winter)? Do you know anyone personally that has been an olympian...(drop some names/results if you are comfortable).
I love them all. We don't usually watch EVERYTHING, but there's nothing I won't watch, if that makes sense. I was a competitive swimmer in another life, so I love swimming. last winter Olympics my husband turned me on to curling! I loved it!
Updates or vents
I can't wait for my appointment next week! *sigh* I'll be just over 10 weeks and it will eb my first u/s. I'm not really having many symptoms, so I'm a little concerned. It seems that I was much more aware with my first PG of tugging and pulling and that slight cramping and stretching you get. I haven't felt any of that. And I never had m/s with my first, but I was exhausted during the 1st tri. Not so much this time around. I was insulin dependent with my DD, and with my initial workup I had to take the one hour glucose. I failed.

I've been watching Swimming, track & volleyball. Winter I like skiiing, snowboarding, My coach for masters swimming in college was a diving coach in the Olympics last time.
First Drs appointment is Sept. 5th. Think we are going to tell the families next week, we will be visiting my husbands family and they will know something is up if I go an entire week without having a beer. (I'm kind of a beer geek)
BFP 12/13/12 EDD 8/22/13 Lilah Ruby born 8/8/13
QOTW: What are your favourite olympic events to watch on television (Summer & Winter)? Do you know anyone personally that has been an olympian...(drop some names/results if you are comfortable). Gymnastics, Swimming, Track & Field, Beach Volleyball Winter: Figure skating, speed skating, snowboarding, skiing. I don't know any Olympians but my DH went to high school and was friends with Misty May!
Updates or vents?Things are much better now well into my 2nd tri. I'm getting my energy level up and my emotional mood swings from the hormones have settled down. My skin is starting to clear up a little bit too, thank goodness!
QOTW: What are your favourite olympic events to watch on television (Summer & Winter)?Summer: Gymnastics & diving. Winter: Ice skating & hockey.
Do you know anyone personally that has been an olympian...(drop some names/results if you are comfortable). Nope.
Updates or vents? I got married last Sunday! Best day ever! Happy about my pg so far, my nausea is slowly but surely declining (I hope I don't eat my words later). I ate an entire plate of bacon this morning. YUM!
QOTW: I'm a dork. I watch gymnastics and figure skating mostly.
My big, fat update is the birth of my boy Henry on August 2nd. Woot!
My Blog

QOTW: What are your favourite olympic events to watch on television (Summer & Winter)? Do you know anyone personally that has been an olympian...(drop some names/results if you are comfortable).
I haven't had the pleasure of knowing any Olympians... but when I can I enjoy watching the swimming/water sports and gymnastic sports during the summer, and figure skating in the winter.
Updates or vents?
No real updates. I'm 34 weeks now, and I'm not checking in as often as I'd like to because I have my shadow at work now, and by the time I get home, I'm exhaused, and barely able to stay awake long enough to have dinner.
My boss and coworkers don't think I'll make it to my EDD. Looks like the baby may have dropped already, and I get BH every time I stand up. EVERY time.
I'm still here!! A few weeks left and anxious!
Ok so my favorite Summer Olympic sport are gymnastics and volleyball. But I'll watch it all!!
Sorry, that reads like you are judging (underlining not necessary for a comment), as I stated, I am on vacay and not at the office where my PG35 checkin file is located and the past few checkins have been done just based on reviewing the previous post. I haven't been reading the whole board and my have missed some July announcement posts, so if the ladies didn't respond to the checkin they will have been missed completely.
Sorry if any oversight has offended anyone, but I am doing my best here dealing with very serious pg complications(elevated risk of pt labour and placental abruption), 2w stress leave from work, dealing with a toddler with a broken arm for 7 weeks, not to mention day-to-day life. Hopefully now that DS has gotten his cast off, I have hit Vday and not had any bleeding in a couple of weeks, things will calm down a bit and I will better be able to balance everything.
Again, my apologies if I haven't done a good enough job at this lately for any of you. I am trying my best.
Hi--I'm a Newbie here! I'm 36 (almost 37) & pregnant with kid #4. I have 3 girls ages 3, 5 & 7.

We are finding out this time.
Thanks for doing a check-in! No way that I could keep up with it, so props to Kelly for being so organized.
QOTW: I don't watch much TV. Being a former horsey person, I do like to see the equestrian events. And the rowing. Not much into winter Olympics - I despise cold weather activities
Updates and Vents:
My 2.5 year old broke his leg 2 weeks ago. Ugh. Long-leg cast coming off August 29 (just in time for my sister's wedding...!) At least, that's what we're hoping for. Thinking good thoughts for Carter's next appointment.
