I'm a FTM but I worked at a daycare years ago that had a diaper pail that I liked. Maybe there are several brands that do this. When you put the diaper into the hole, you close the lid and then twist a wheel like piece. Twisting it, twists the diaper bag around that one diaper. We twisted after each diaper. When you empty the bag it's a long string of little bundles...like a sausage link...with each diaper twisted it it's on portion of the trash bag. Any ideas? Thanks!

Oh really? That's good to know. When I read the reviews and features for different pails, none of them specify it. I just imagined that all the diapers are just sitting in a big bag...like trash. Thanks!
The original Diaper Genie worked like that. The current versions of the Diaper Genie (Elite or Essential) don't have any twisting mechanism, rather the bag is held shut at the top by a clamping mechanism that you push the dirty diapers through. When you empty the pail, the diapers are all together in the disposable tube-shaped bag.
I hava a Diaper Genie Essential (formerly called the Diaper Genie II). There is of course a little smell when you go to empty it and have to tie off the top of the bag, but overall I've been pleased with the way it controlled odor. I really never smelled anything unless I was emptying the can or sometimes when I had the lid open and was inserting a new diaper if there was an especially smelly one already inside the can.
Like PP said, a lot if not most diaper pails do that now. I just wanted to mention mine that I loved, the Arm & Hammer diaper pail by Munchkin, which is similar but different. When you close the lid, the bag twists around the diaper like you're describing, to seal in the smell. Each time you open the lid, it untwists so that you can put another diaper in. In other words, they're not getting twisted individually, but the smell is sealed in when the pail is closed. I know a lot of people don't really like dealing with the "poop sausage" when they empty the diaper bag, and this one just comes out as a regular bag full of diapers.
I'm sure they're all great, just another option!

This. I also have the Arm & Hammer and love it. I've never had any issues with odor and it's very easy to use/change bags.
