Yes. Well, my parents do, and since all I pretty much do over there is eat, I use it quite a bit. It's nice that it's under the island and isn't easily seen. Having it lower down also makes it easier to clean. I guess the only real difference is having to press a button to have it open and close, but it moves quickly enough that I really don't mind it. I like it enough to buy one.
