So my man is doing all the decorating...

My boyfriend and I recently bought a house, and we've spent the past week fixing it up, repainting it, and decorating it. We both work, but boyfriend works at home, so he's been doing most of the nesting, so to speak. He's also really worried about me being around the house with paint fumes or lifting things, so I haven't even been in the house since we got it. I've done some shopping for furniture and such and dropped it off, and we have a general outline of what each room is going to look like, but I'm starting to feel disconnected from the whole process, and starting to worry about how it's going to turn out. I know I'm going to be able to help out eventually, and get the final decorative touches and such, but I don't even know what the new wall colors look like or what the furniture we have looks like. Re: So my man is doing all the decorating...

  • After settling on a theme and design for the nursery my husband pretty much took over. At first I was a little upset because I felt left out but then I realized how tired I was getting and maintain other aspects of daily life just left me too worn out to fully participate. I know my husband will do a good job so I have just decided to settle down and let him do this. He has been really excited about it as well.

  • I'm a little bummed. My husband is taping off the room we've designated as the nursery as I type this. I tried sitting in there just to keep him company but the smell of the primer on the walls was annoying me. I mean... I don't "enjoy" painting by any means, bleh...work. But being pregnant with twins is wiping me out too. I'd be tired about 10 minutes in and flake out on him anyway. Regardless I feel guilty that he's doing it all on his own. Even though I know it doesn't bother him. He's the work horse in our marriage, not me. I guess you just got to look at it as... they're doing all this manual labor/construction, but that will NEVER compare to what we're "building" in our bellies. :)<3
