Any Single Mommies Survive a Csection SOLO?

Im due Decemeber and am going to be parenting alone, I dont have any family support and minimal friends in the area and none i would ask to help....did any of you go through a csection ( i have a scheduled csection for mid december) alone? I have had 2 csections prior with two beautiful children as a result and had my ex husband to help every step of the way. Im so nervous to do this alone this time.

suggestions? advice?

Im also having a tubal ligation done at the same time so maybe thats why im nervous too worrying about pain!

Re: Any Single Mommies Survive a Csection SOLO?

  • Mine will be solo as well, but that is by choice. My mom would love to be in there, but I would be too worried about how she is feeling and it would stress me out.

If you are alone, there usually will be a nurse with you at all times in a non-medical function. Like a spouse or partner would be.

However, if you are looking for a bit more personal care, you might look into hiring a Doula to be with you. They do much more than just assist with natural births. They can even offer support after the birth.

Im sure this would be expensive but even for the first 2-3, maybe an older woman (grandmother type?)

  • I had my daughter last December, I'm also a single mom by choice. While my mom lives near by and did pop over for a few hours everyday , for the majority it was just my daughter and I. I managed, very slowly but I managed.

After they took the staples out , getting up and down and laying in bed, etc.  was much easier for me.

    Good luck !
