Recommend your Bicycle for 3 +

I don't want a trike. He has trikes. We want to get him a bike. One that has training wheels and can become a real bike. 

 I am hoping to spend under 100$ for both the bike and helmet. This is going to be his "big" present for his birthday. I had originally planned on getting him a scooter, but I think a bike will be more fun. 

Also, no characters please. Hot wheels and Cars are okay. No Whinnie the pooh, diego, or barney.

I'm looking at the Strider Balance Bike for when my son's a bit older but I've got no personal experience with it so no idea how it compares to a regular bike with training wheels.
