GTKY: how were you named?

I was going to name after my grandmother but she said that was an old persons name (Charlotte). A friend of my mom came up with my first name and Charlotte is my middle. I hate my first name btw bc there was always at 4 other people in my grade with the same name (Jasmine)

I was named after my mom's favorite soap opera. There was someone on there named Taylor and my middle name is after my aunt her middle name is Rae too and so is my cousin's and now my niece has the same middle name.

 

Ha!  Me too!  I was named after the baby girl (Ryan) on Ryan's Hope.  My middle name was after my great grandmother.

My parents named me Kara (not after anyone) Ann (grandma's name and mom's middle name). After I was born I had to be rushed to a different hospital. When my parents got there to see me the sign said "Hi my name is Kari Ann. My parents thought, well Kari is cute too so they just left it as that. So I guess you could say the hospital staff named me.

I was supposed to be Allison Jean after my father, but then when I was born he changed the name to Crystal Lynn and my mom hated it, so she said Nicole Ann. I was born on my great grandmother's bday (ann) plus both my grandmother and mother have ann as a mn, as will our baby girl.

Well...Im named after my nurse.  My mom wanted a boy, when I wasn't a boy she was really disappointed.  Like, didn't want to take me home disappointed.  So when the made her pick a name for the birth certificate she wanted a name that could also have a nickname too....I am Deena... (Dee).  No one ever calls me that by that nickname.

MN is after my grandmother and four previous generations.
