I don't really like pears. The taste and the texture just don't jive with me - never have. But despite my dislike for them, I don't want to deny Sophie the opportunity to try them. Who knows, she might just love them. I was reading up and saw that pears might be a good natural laxative - poor babe has been kind of constipated for a few days, and I thought this might be a good time to try them.
Since I don't like pears, I really know nothing about them. My question is, how do I make a pear ready for her to eat? Are they soft enough to just mash for her? Should I cook them first? I assume I need to peel them... Any advice?

I probably should add that when I bake, I just slice them in half, bake at 350 for 20 minutes, then let them cool so I can peel and chop them. I do this with squash, as well. The other thing I have done with squash that Paul loves, is I peeled, cubed it and froze it without doing a thing to it, then I put it in his mesh feeder for his teeth. He loves it that way.
