I'm pg with a singleton (8 wks) and they found one two weeks ago after I had a bleeding episode. My RE said they are very common. I've had a bleeding off and on since then (generally brown). Last week, my RE said it looked like the SCH was resolving so I'll be interested to see what tomorrow's u/s looks like. Good luck!

I had one. I had spotting off and on from about 7 or 8 weeks but it was attributed to my progesterone suppositories. At 10w, my SCH was dx. At 12w, it was still there but I stopped having spotting. By 16w, they couldn't see it anymore. Do you have any specific questions?

Thanks, Keg, I am so glad to hear that it sounds as though it's resolving itself, that's great! I hope you get good news at the u/s tomorrow, please let me know how it goes.

Thanks Colleen, I actually had the same experience, thinking it was my suppositories, until it got worse. You actually answered by questions in your response, I was just curious what to expect and how it ended up resolving. Thank you so much, and your little boys are so incredibly handsome, I hope to have as happy an outcome as you.

I am pregnant with twins and at around 5.5 weeks had bright red bleeding that was found to be a SCH. I bled off and on for a few weeks (mostly darker colored at that point). After the bleeding tapered off it didn't seem to cause any other issues.
Hope everything clears up soon for you. Even though you know what it is the bleeding is always so scary. I'm pretty sure I called my doctor way too many times throughout those first few weeks! They understand that it is scary for you though and usually have no problem bringing you in just to make sure all is ok.
I had it weeks 6-7. It started out as a heavy, heavy bleed though on a Friday night so I couldn't see the doc till sat morning. Hardest/longest night of my life. I thought we were done for. The next day though is when I found out I was having twins. They had me on pelvic rest and no work for about 10 days and it was completely gone and both babies turned out fine. Hang in there and take it easy!
I had a major SCH bleed at 10w6d. Of course it happened while we were 2000 miles from home on vacation I was sure I was miscarrying because (sorry if this was TMI) I bled through a heavy duty pad and onto the floor, then soaked another one and the ER hospital bed. The u/s showed both babies kicking happily away though and I stopped bleeding about 48 hours later and haven't had any bleeding or spotting since (knock on wood). The SCH was non-existant by my 18w a/s.
When I got back home and saw my OB, she said she would've been surprised if I didn't have a SCH. She said not only are they common with twins but also with IVF babies. It was certainly not an experience I'd like to relive but luckily everything turned out OK. It's amazing how many ladies on PAIF have had SCH bleeds.
TTC 12/2009 Me: 32 - Stage II Endo / DH: 36 - Low count and morphology (1%) IUIs 1-3 BFN, lap Dec. 2010, IUIs 4-6 BFN IVF w/ICSI #1 - ER 2/8: 24R 19M 9F ET 2/13 2-5 day blasts (no frosties) = BFP - b/g twins! E & C Born 10/19/2012
They saw a small SCH at 7 weeks, and i had a tony bit of spotting. Then at 13 weeks I woke up one morning covered in blood and freaked out....turns out the SCH wasnt as small as they thought. But the babies were fine (bonus ultrasound that morning, but i damn near had a stroke when I woke up that morning). After that I spotted for like 3 weeks, but it resolved itself with no more drama.
Thank you all so very much for sharing your stories. Though my OB doesn't want to see me for four weeks, I have my NFT in two weeks, and will certainly go back in if it worsens. Again, thank you so much.
