DS was born on a Friday and it was perfect. DH only had to take 1 day off while I was in the hospital (DS's birth day) and we were home by Sunday It was just really nice!
DD was born on a Monday so 3 of the days of the 2 weeks that DH takes off are "wasted" in the hospital. The same thing will happen this time since my induction is on Monday, Sept 10th.
Friday afternoon would be ideal for DH's teaching schedule... he wouldn't miss any classes the day of and his colleague(s) who will be filling in would have a couple of days notice.
Friday - two extra days without having to take PTO for myself or my husband.
ETA: My induction started Monday morning but I didn't have DS until Tuesday morning. They released me on Thursday - so for his week off, he spent four of the days in the hospital. I'd rather we avoid that this time.

Aw. I voted for Monday and now I regret it. I was simply thinking, "It'd be awesome to go into labor on a Monday and not have to go into the office." I didn't even think about DH's time off from work.

I voted Sunday. With DH's current work schedule he is off Monday - Wednesday, so he'd miss work Sunday and then I'm hoping he could go back on Thursday.

I'm the SS that's not there and will be super specific. Im due 9.11 but I'm hoping to go into labor on my birthday (9/19) and have him on 9/20 so that I don't have to go back to work until after winter break.
I picked Saturday, because then DH can have the first full week off at home with us. Last time, I had DD on a Friday morning & he had to go back Friday of the next week. NBD, but if I got to pick, then I'd pick Sat!
I'm going to be the pain and pick SS. DH's schedule changes weekly so ideally I would deliver at the beginning of one of his 4 day off stints. The day of the week does not matter too much to me.
I'm a scheduled c/s so I didn't vote, but I'm scheduled for a Tuesday and that works fine for me. While I like the idea of being in the hospital over the weekend so more of DH's time off would be at home, my brother and SIL are both physical therapists at a major hospital in Houston and have ingrained in me that the care is better during the week than over the weekend. (Not saying this is really true, but they've convinced me that if I have a choice I should be there during the week rather than the weekend.)

It's nice for my start of maternity leave though! My first day of leave is Sept 10th, so my last day of work is a Friday (Sept 7th) and we still have the weekend to finish up last minute things for the baby. That's really the only downside, but it's not terrible, ya know? It was just better when he had 2 full weeks at home with me like he did with DS.

Exactly this. DH has very limited time off work and isn't at a company big enough for FMLA, so I am trying to squeeze every minute with him home. I don't want to "waste" those days in the hospital either. DS was born on a Tuesday afternoon, so we spent all week in the hospital.
DH is a teacher and is refusing to take more than 1 or 2 days off after the baby arrives (my mom and MIL are coming to help for the first two weeks in shifts though)
So, I would love if he could have a little more time with my and the LO, especially since our hospital keeps us a full 48 hours after the baby is born. It makes me sad he can't spend more time.
I am due on a Sunday (23rd), so either Saturday or Sunday will be ideal b/c it will be easier/more convenient for family to watch DS on the weekend than it will be during the week b/c of work & school schedules.
Thursday so DS1 will be in daycare both days I'm in the hospital and then home with us as a family for the weekend. Now that I'm typing it, maybe Wed so I can have the first day home with DS1 in daycare then the weekend.
I am hoping to have her on a Thursday night or Friday, then our parents would come down for the weekend, we'd hopefully be home Saturday or Sunday, and DH would still get another 10 or so days at home together (he gets 5 "daddy days" off when she's born).
Met DH - Aug 2001 :: Married - Jan 2010 :: DD born - Sept 2012
I picked Wednesday so I can have a day home to rest before family ends up at my house for the weekend. As for work, that really isn't a factor for either of us since we have pretty flexible jobs.

Diagnosed with Severe Ashermans Hysteroscopy #10 - scar tissue grew back reblocking my right tube #11 or IVF with scarring still inside? 1 lone embryo from September 2016 retreival, dx with Trisomy 16, starting fresh
I picked Thursday because that is my OBs day in the delivery rotation! The other docs in the practice are great and I decided to go with a large practice so I wouldn't be likely to have an on-call doctor i never met. But still, I love her best. Also, DH works from home Mondays and Thursdays so there would be no worry about him getting home in time if baby came fast! His commute is about 1.5 hours.
I picked Sunday. It'll be the 9th of September. EDD is the 11th. I picked it because: 1. We have a thing with 9's in our house...everything has happened for us on the 19th or 21st. 9 would be the closest to that.
2. DH will be at his job for 1 year on the 6th so his vacation time after LO is born would be paid for.
3. I'd be close to my due date which means my ML would last until December 3rd as planned!
I voted thursday because that would be the best day for dh, workwise. Also because friday is my longest day of work in terms of hours so it wohld be awesome to miss it! I have had Sunday and Saturday babies in the past and it was nice because the hospital isn't as busy with scheduled inductions and sections. Any day is fine except friday..my OB can't perform surgeries on weekends so if I have baby on a friday he would be unable to tie my tubes like I want.

I voted for Thursday because 1) thats the day my doc induces and 2) that day my pediatrician is on call at the hospital (not someone else from his practice). Also because I had DD on Thursday and went home on Saturday (they let me go early because of a huge winter storm coming). Plus with DH's schedule, he would only have to take one vacation day.
Re: CPT (Clicky Poll Tuesday): Ideal labor day
I picked Thursday. Then I could come home on a Saturday and have the hubs at home with me for 10 days before he goes back to work.

I am so stressed about being away from DS!
My DH has made a comment about that too. It would be a fun way to remember it. (and pretty sweet to have LO's birthday on/close to a holiday)
I said Tuesday. That way I could get through all the NFL games that week and definitely be home in time to see the next weekend's games. : )
DH works for himself and can work from home, so actual days off for him are not really an issue.
