Telling Strangers is Easier Than Telling Friends & Fam

I got turned onto thebump.com in April/May of this year then miscarried at 6.5 weeks just before Mothers Day so I never really got plugged into it.  I'm hesitant to tell as many people I know this time around, but at the same time I'm super excited and just wondering if there is anybody else out there who is also only 4 weeks along?  Do most people really not know this early?  I started getting very faint positive HPTs at 3.5 weeks, only 10 DPO. Followed by BFPs buy the end of week 3. Is this normal?  Last time I didn't know until 4.5 weeks but apparently there was never a normal rate of growth...  Looking for anyone else due in April of 2013... I hope this one lasts full term!

A good portion of the population doesn't test until after a missed period- so those of us who knew in week 3 are a bit more rare.

So true! I would not want to tell friends and family yet, but it is so great to be able to talk to other women who are going through the same thing at the same time! I was really surprised when I saw this site that there was already an April 2013 group.

i think having an online community of "strangers" who are going through the same thing is wonderful. sometimes friends and family in real life just can't say things or listen the same as an online friend can. plus, you can get some perspective on life and situations sometimes.
