We tried the 3 day potty training method over the weekend. I actually took Friday and today off work in case we needed four days, and it went SO well. Friday morning was rough with accidents on the kitchen chair, on the floor and on the couch, but something must have clicked with her during her nap on Friday because she hasn't had any pee accidents since then, not even during her naps or overnight. We are officially diaper free! (And I'm not venturing into the pull-ups realm at all, so if that means the occasional accident in her bed, we will just deal with it.)
Going #2 has been harder, which I expected, and she had one accident on Saturday where most of it was not in the potty but some was. Then this morning she went again - all in the potty this time.
I'm so excited and proud of her! I can't believe how well this method worked for us.
I'm dying to put this on Facebook, but I know I have FB friends who would rather not read about my child's potty antics, so I'll stick with keeping it on TB because I know you ladies understand (or someday will understand if your kids are too young to PT yet).
And please, AW your own child(ren) too or your pregnancies in this thread
Re: I have to AW my kid (please add your own)
That's AWESOME!! Especially that she's diaper free at nap and nighttime. I think it was another year before we took that plunge with Aiden. Way to go mama!
Aiden has decided to teach himself to write numbers. We've been working on writing letters together, but he says he's a big boy and doesn't need my help writing numbers. So far he has 1-4 down.
Claire is so.close to walking, not that I'm rushing it. She figured out how to climb up the steps this weekend. She pulls up on everything including the wall. She's also trying to climb out of her crib already. Thankfully she can't because she's too short, but I spied her trying to put her foot up. She's a monkey!

Way to go Sydney!!!
Well I have similiar news with Ava. She has been in big girl underwear for several days now but will not poop on the potty I had to put a diaper on her twice so that she would go. As soon as the diaper goes on, she goes right away. I'm just scared because she goes daily like clockwork and I don't want her getting backed up. DH is home with her today--I'm keeping my fingers crossed that today is the day! We skipped the Pull-ups too because she will go to the bathroom in them because they feel like diapers.
Faith isn't walking yet but she is a pro at pushing her little walking toy around. She gets so excited when she does it, it is so cute.
Wonderful News!
Annabelle has been potty trained for few months now, and we are on our last pack of pull ups, once they are gone, they are gone, no more buying them.
In other news, Caroline had sweet potatoes for the first time last night. We brought up the high chair, strapped her in, put a bib on her and as soon as I got out the container, the girl was ready. I feed her about 1 tablespoon of food and if I was to slow, she let me know, she would scream for it. We've been holding off until she hit 5 months old (which she turns on Sunday). We wanted to wait until six months, but she's been ready for some time now. Plus we got the okay at 4 months to start. I started thinking back to Annabelle first eating experience, and we waited until 5.5 months old. I'm loving this stage so much. Before I know she's going to be year old.
Emily started at preschool/daycare center this week and has done excellent the two drop offs. When we switched inhome daycares this spring, she carried on like she was being sent to a torture center but with school, she has just asked for an extra "huggie" and gone about her day. She also gave her teacher a hug this morning, so I think that's a good sign.
Lucy is pulling up on everything - she's really not old enough to be doing that! I liked my underacheiver Emily, she didn't walk until she was 14 months, I think Lucy will be earlier.
Yay that is great news for Sydney!
Sean got a haircut yesterday and instantly looks about 5. He is so sweet and funny, I love it that he is so affectionate with me and needs his snuggles with me before bedtime. We lay down in his bed together and he puts his arms around my neck and says "Mommy, scratch my back". I know someday he won't be like this anymore so I am really trying to absorb it all now.
B is such a sweet, smiley, wonderfully happy baby. He reminds me of a golden retriever puppy or something, lol. if only he would sleep. He still ends up in bed with me more often than not, but I can't lie, I love waking up and seeing his little face peacefully snoozing away.
Congrats to all the successfully potty-training mommies and kiddos!
LJ still doesn't crawl, but manages to get around, apparently enough so that she's considered "mobile" and was moved to Infant B last week. She did pull herself up to a full stand yesterday for the first time though; unfortunately it was in the bathtub. Of course she chooses the least safe place to try out her new skills. ;-) In a little over a week, she also went from minimal interest in feeding herself to being a cheerio addict. She now shoves those suckers in like a pro. The dog is pretty sad that her hand-to-mouth success ratio increased so rapidly. I love her smiles and giggles and can't believe she's growing so quickly.
Edit for awful grammar.
Baby Girl #2 is on her way!
If it makes you feel any better, a couple of my friends' kids went from just pulling themselves around on their tummies to pulling up and then walking.
LOL Ava does this too. I have to scratch back and then arms! They are so cute. You need to post a picture of Sean with his new haircut!
My 3.5 yo is still in pull ups at night - so go Sydney and Ava and Annabelle!
I don't have anything in particular, but DD is just getting so smart and talkative.
We went to the mall play area over the weekend - and I was so proud of her - she was totally holding her own w/ the 5 and 6 yo boys who were playing rough climbing like monkeys/superheros, yelling and running, but would then turn around and gently help a young toddler climb something or move around a baby who was crawling.
Cecilia was pulling up at 7 months and I so wasn't prepared at all!!
We're doing the 3 day PTing this weekend with Cecilia and I hope it goes well. I think she will be the stubborn one.
Brendon is so sweet. I was upset about something a couple of weeks ago. He said "It's okay, Mommy. Cecilia and I will protect you."
LOVE!
