new vehicle question (my very first clicky poll...I think)

I am getting a new vehicle tonight...I have my first choice of color, but second guessing due to my leadfoot...so I need opinions.

And while I am at it...I am 95% set on a new Jeep Grand Cherokee...but does anyone have any feedback on a Jeep Liberty?

  • I like red better than silver but if you ever plan on reselling, silver is more marketable,

  • Here is my only advice: if you have a lead foot, don't get yellow! Ha!

If you're going fast enough, they're going to catch you, red, silver, yellow, or white. Which one do you like better?

I am actually leasing this time around.  Something I really should have been doing all along since I am almost always low miles (except for the 5 year period I had a 70 mile round trip commute) and by few years I am chomping at the bit for a new one.

  • I say get what you want! If you like red best, go for it! You are the one driving it every single day.

I actually wanted a yellow monte carlo ss years ago.

I really wanted a red jeep when I bought my current one, but the one they had left was the loaded to the max version that was a little out of my price range.

  • I read somewhere that red cars statistically don't get in as many accidents because they're so visible and other cars see you - whereas white/silver/tan cars all blend in and are harder to see.

    Just my 2 cents.

    This is a good thing!

The new Grand Cherokee looks so big to me.  I'm really digging the Compass's new look.  I currently have an older Grand Cherokee.  Love it!

A friend of mine had an '08 like I currently do...had a different car in between and recently got a '12.  She said it is slightly bigger but she likes it so much better than her '08 (and the '12 has slightly better gas mileage).  I am definitely not looking to scale down - I am so much more comfortable in this size SUV.

  • In my experience, silver doesn't show dirt as much, so you don't have to wash it as often.
  • I have an 04 Jeep Liberty & absolutely love it. The only problem I've ever had with it is a dead battery. So as far as mechanics, it's a damn good car. The only down side I have is that with twins, there isn't much space, but we've made it work.

  • We have a 2003 Jeep Liberty & love it.  We have been able to travel fine before baby with our dog.  Now, with baby we usually kennel the dog.  But, we can fit with all with carrier on top.  Like that it is a 4-wheel drive in Illinois winters.
