My closet is empty....

So this past week hasn't been the best week (my 92 year old grandma is dying. They just discovered cancer). Because of that, I needed to take my mind off of everything--so I tore apart my closet today. I seriously have no clothes left. In my closet---it looked like I had so much, but after I sorted through them and made a pile of clothes to get rid of due to pin prick holes, stains, pilling fabric. Or putting my maternity clothes away--along with my pre-maternity clothes (since I am not at that weight yet)

So now I need work clothes, all around clothes and everything in between. I do have SOME clothes that made the purge.

  • My go-to guy is always H&M when I need cute clothes for small prices.  Most of the stuff I've found there is less than Target, etc.  I always try to follow What Not To Wear's advice and fit my body now for clothes, and not hold off on buying clothing until I get into that 'perfect' size.  It makes me feel better and sometimes helps me get back down to the weight I want because I feel better about myself.

Go get you some new duds mama!

I did the same a couple months ago. My closet still looks so empty. I haven't had the money to start shopping for me.

I need to do it, I still only wear about 1/4 of whats in there.

  • Go to The Loft or another nice store and pick up some basics. Solids go with lots of stuff. If you're on a budget go dig through a discount store like TJ Max or Marshalls. It's a hit or miss, but if you look long enough you get some nice stuff. Have fun!

  • I need to do this!  Try selling them at a consignment store and earn some skrilla towards a new wardrobe! I'm sorry about your grandmother.

  • Boy, the empty closet sounds familiar. I just purged the last few maternity things and clothes that don't fit or my mom bought (her taste and mine couldn't be further apart). I have less than a weeks worth of clothing for fall/winter, and spring/summer. Sounds like a Betty and Wilma shopping trip is in order ladies, CHARGE!!

Oh, and I second selling the clothing that is in good shape, I've got mine listed and they'll sell. A little will help expand the wardrobe.

ETA: Sorry about your grandma. That's not good news at any age.
