Micro fiber stink

I know I've read on here before how to get rid of it, but I can't remember.

I bought a lot of Thirsties duo pockets off of eBay and I started using them on DD this past week. At first I just used the hemp inserts in them, but got a couple leaks. So, I added the micro fiber in and the smell is awful. The inserts smell clean out of the wash, but as soon as DD pees, it wreaks. What can I do about my smelly micro fiber?

Does it smell like barnyard smell or amonia smell?

My inclination is to say that if it doesn't smell straight out of the wash that your wash routine is probably ok, but I don't use my microfiber inserts much.  You could try tweaking your wash routine so they don't reak.  Sorry I'm not much help.

Barnyard means you aren't using enough detergent. They aren't getting clean.

You could always bleach the microfiber as well.

Here's where I ask what I always ask: do you have hard water? If you do, try stripping with RLR and then adding Calgon with your detergent.

Yup. Boil or bleach, and then if it becomes a problem again increase your detergent.
