Hi ladies, I'm a FTM so this may seem like a silly question or one you have answered tons of times before so sorry to ask it.
A lot of our family has been asking if the baby's head is engaged when I tell them the Dr is happy and the baby's facing head down.
I'm assuming it is, I know my measurement has dropped from 29 to 27, I know I feel a lightning pain when baby's head was bumping my cervix, and I noticed it's easier to breath because baby isn't up as high. I also have noticed more pressure on my bladder and it's getting quite painful to walk around, I feel like I need to hold my bump or baby is going to fall out lol.
Does that mean my baby's head is engaged?
Re: Baby's Head Engaged?
in my opinion....by your descriptions I would say more than likely baby has dropped. Once the baby's head has moved down into your pelvis it's "engaged" sometimes this happens a few weeks before hand and most of the time, not until you're in labor.
i remember learning about cervix checks and docs checking to see if baby is "ballotable" which basically is when the doc touches the baby's head and basically if it "bounces" then baby is ballotable and technically not engaged. There's also a correlation with what station baby's head is at.
hope this helps a little.
