I had my pp appt earlier this week and there is a small hole where my body rejected the dissolvable stitches. My dr wanted to cauterize it but I was so freaked out by the thought of it hurting I wouldn't let her. She gave me two weeks to try to let it heal on my own, but this morning when my husband was re taping it he said it had gotten a little bigger. I'm afraid I won't be able to avoid letting my dr do it. Had anyone had this happen? How much does it hurt? I'm so freaked out about her burning me closed!!
Re: 6 weeks pp and I have a hole...my dr wants to cauterize??
I have had a couple of cauterizations done, not with my c-sections but other small surgeries and really the worst part of it is smelling the burning skin. They will give you a shot of local to numb the area and then do it. It really is no big deal at all. It might burn a little after words but nothing that a little Motrin can't take care of.
If I were in that situation I would go and get it done. I would much rather have that done then to end up with some other form of infection that could be a lot worse and way more painful.
Cauterization is nothing compared to c-section pain.
