The last three nights i have awaken with horrible legs cramps in my calfs. In the morning my legs and hips are sooo sore, legs from the cramps and hips I think from trying to sleep on my side. Any help?
I feel your pain on this one. My boss said that as soon as the feel it start, immidately get out of bad, and stand with your weight on the leg with the cramp.
Elevate legs during the day and do not cross them. Drink more water! seriously..
Stretch exercises til you can't literally too- I have a sitting job and i make sure I get up every hr to move.
When you stretch flex feet -DO not point them- it makes it worse than you think.
I had many many charlie horses before pregnancy and I continously do these things besides watch my salt intake in this heat and this past few months I've been free from waking up screaming myself. I sleep on my side every night with pillows in between my legs and one under my tummy/chest.
Good luck- and if you need specific stretches let me know and I'll send some links!

This. It sounds painful but I promise it works.
I had to do this at 4:30 this morning! First time it's happened to me but I jumped right up and stood on it and it went away within a couple of seconds.
I had this problem early this morning, I jumped up in bed screaming "omg, leg cramps!" Not fun. The only thing I've found to help is by putting pressure on the leg, or toe (I get toe cramps a lot).
I have woken up screaming from them a few times (and before pregnancy as well). Increasing calcium and magnesium in your diet helps prevent them, and putting your foot flat on the wall/floor (as much as it hurts 100x more at the moment) helps them go away faster.

If a leg cramp occurs, it hurts but get up and walk around it will make the cramp pass more quickly.
To help prevent them, eat 1 -2 bananas a day, drink atleast 8 glass (yes all of them) of water and right before bed do calf stretches.
