WCM - another Q

The previous post got me to thinking...I plan on switching DD from breastmilk to WCM except I'll nurse in the morning and at night for a while at least when DD gets to 1 year (starting a little before probably).

When you switch to WCM, do you typically replace all the oz. LO gets of breastmilk / formula to WCM?

Re: WCM - another Q

  • No. I think the max oz of WCM they should get in one day is 16oz.

I introduced it about 1.5m ago. I give him some with lunch and dinner; he usually drinks 2-4oz at each meal.

I will be weaning my daytime sessions starting this week and instead of nursing, I'll offer DS some water or milk with a snack (fruit, yogurt, cheese, etc) to replace the BM.

    HTH.

  • we are swtiching now and have started with 2oz of WCM with 6oz of formula with each bottle, so far he's liking it and no issues, after 2 weeks we'll so another 2 oz and so on until he's switched completely and then I believe they drink only abour 16oz of wcm a day as opposed to their normal amount of formula intake

  • WCM isn't supposed to replace formula after a year, solids are.  I think the cut is 16oz.
