I haven't tried apples yet, but I'd imagine you'd want to stay away from types like Granny Smith, which are very tart. Maybe try gala or empire, which are sweeter.
I just looked at the description at Trader Joes (where I bought them). Pink Lady said sweet and juicy, and that seemed perfect for making applesauce, so that's what I picked. And she loved them.
According to my baby bullet shopping guide (I don't really care just stating what it says) It says to use cooking apples and it is better to use organic apples. We chose organic gala and we are making them today! MAcetosh is another great cooking apple. Good luck!
I used Fiji Organic (nice and sweet). LO LOVED them! I still had more left over after 4 days so I mixed some apples with spinach and she loved that too!
