Contractions after exam

I've been having bh and real contractions for weeks but nothing timeable. I had my strep test today and an internal exam. I was 3cm and 50% effaced. I'm spotting now and having some painful contractions...not close together. Has anybody had that happen after an exam? I need this baby to cook a little longer!

    Yes, it is normal. Smile

    I was having contractions last week at my 38 week appointment. And the L&D asked me if they did an internal which they thought could have been causing the contractions. But I didn't get an internal. Had turned out to be a UTI.

    So I'm taking it internals can cause contractions. But hey!! 3cm Dialated! Woo... means you'll only have 7 more to deal with when the time comes.
