Experiences you've had with Jardin Magico?

Hi, I took a tour of the Longfellow Jardin Magico today and really loved it.  I would like to hear from some other moms who use the center.  Also, they told me that the infant wait time is 6-8 months, which would be perfect for when I need to go back to work.  However, I have heard some rumors that people have been told this but then are still on the wait list 1 year later.  Can anyone attest to this or refute it?  Thanks!

Re: Experiences you've had with Jardin Magico?

  • We don't go to Jardin Magico because there isn't one in our neighborhood, but our friends go and LOVE it.  If there was one near us, we'd make it happen.

I can tell you that their 15 month old was on the wait list for over a year.  Of course, times change and so do wait lists. BUT, Jardin Magico did everything they could to get them in--eventually transfering them to the newly opened Edina site (at the time) so that they could get in faster.

So, yes, in that situation it took longer than they were initially told...but, my friends simply sent their kiddo to New Horizons for the 6 extra weeks that it took. Those centers almost always have extra room, so if you're comfortable with that, it's a potential option.

  • We also have friends that go there and love it. We toured about 3 months ago and are on the wait list. I really would love to get in. However, we have some other friends that, like PP said, have been on the wait list for over a year and and were told 6 months. But PP's idea was good, we also toured Kindercare recently in SW on border of Edina - we had sent DD there when she was a baby but quit after my husband was laid off. They were good, and always have openings so you could just put them in someplace like that until Jardin Magico opens up.
