Anyone else creeped out by rocking chairs?

I know I'm going to want something to rock baby in, but I really don't want a rocking chair in my bedroom.  I guess I've watched too many horror movies where the chair is rocking by itself. PLUS the previous owner died in the house (the husband).

Am I alone in finding them creepy? I think I'm okay with the idea of a glider, though, for some reason!

    We are getting a glider and we wont have it in our room,we will have it in LOs room.

    I have seen a ton of scary movies too with creepy rocking chairs, but I have just never connected it with my DS rocking chair...

    LOL!! I've never thought of it but now that you mention it, they are kind of creepy. I also don't think rocking chairs are very comfortable. If I get anything for the nursery it will probably be a glider.

    I read the title and thought "how could anyone be creeped out by a rocking chair!?" I don't watch many scary movies [because I'm a big baby] but now I totally get it! I think I'd rather have a glider anyways.

    I like gliders better than rockers, but I can tell you, even rockerless, spending so much time awake in the middle of the night feeding DD creeped me out. Our house was built in 1922 and I'd be willing to bet a few ppl died in it.

    I have a rocking chair that my Pop Pop finished for me before he passed away. That's what we will be using.

    I don't watch scary movies, so they don't creep me out. But I want a glider anyway, they seem to be more comfortable.

    lol I LOVE rocking chairs. My family had a lot of old wooden rocking chairs when I was growing up. I love horror movies and I kinda like the creepy factor lol. 

    We already have a rocking easy chair that I guess we'll use though.
