TTC after 35

Random question

Do any of you know if I could be missing or low on a chemical preventing my body from holding a pregnancy?   And I don't mean me specifically but in general after 35?

  • The only thing you could be low on that would affect your chances of carrying a pregnancy would be progesterone as far as I know.  You could also have a short LP (which is often due to low prog).  And that's not necessarily limited to women over 35, as there are plenty of under-35's who experience it as well.  You can test both by having a 7dpo progesterone blood test, and by charting to see what your LP is.  Some docs think low progesterone isn't a cause of miscarriage in and of itself, but a result of poor egg or embryo quality.
