Accidental ingestion at daycare

Yesterday my dd stole a muffin from another child at daycare and ate 2 or 3 bites before it was taken from her. She was given a 1 time dose of Benadryl. Today she has a wicked diaper rash that is a little bit on her thighs too. It's red and raised. Can this be from the muffin the next day? We have been on an egg free diet for 1.5 years now... So not sure what could happen when she eats egg containing foods this far down the road.

    Did your DD react to the muffin or did they give her the Benadryl just in case?

    They gave it to her within minutes. No rash was seen but I am proactive with her allergy approach.

    Does she have a gluten Allergy? Is the rash localized to the disper area? My son used to get these rashes with allergen foods. Benadryl (if it's bothering HER) and cool baths will help it Ina few days

    my son use to get diaper rashes from soy. CRAZY Diaper rash!  he outgrew his soy allergy and i haven't seen a diaper rash like that since.  So i think it's totally possible.

    Definitely possible - DD gets a rash like this from soy. We did a soy test at the allergist and it all seemed good for a couple of hours, and within 24 hours her entire butt was so rashed and bloody that we ended up taking her to an urgent care. I would say it is from the egg!
