I am having a lot of trouble getting back into a routine and figuring out how to drop some baby weight (and other) after having DD (my 2nd child) in January.
I had no trouble losing weight after I had my DS 2 years ago - I was a SAHM with him and the first year we were out at least once or twice a day taking huge long walks with the stroller, etc. It was easy for me to stay active and the weight just dropped off.
This time around, I gained more than I should have, and I ate a lot of stuff I probably shouldn't have after pg too. DH and I were both home, and I was pretty spoiled because he took great care of me. BUT - bottom line is, I have about 60 lbs to lose (eek). I've been back at work FT since April, and I still don't have a good workout routine, or any routine going. I leave the house at 7:45, and I feel like after I get home at 5:30 or 6, the evening is all taken up with dinner, bath, and bedtime for the kids - and by8-8:30, I just don't have it in me to work out.
DD loves being in a stroller, so I was thinking of getting a bob or another jogger so I can start doing a C25k program with her in the early mornings (she's up at 5:30 or so every day). Is that realistic? I figured when the weather cools down, I can try to go with DS after work and he can ride his bike, which he loves.
How do other working moms get the workouts in and drop weight??
Re: Help - getting back into shape after baby!
congrats on the second baby!
I would say, you can always make the time.
Why not workout on your lunch hour. eat at your desk and then on your lunch hour go outside and walk or find a close gym near you. I found that I dont have alot of time to workout I need to make the time I have to workout intense. on weekends, walk with your kids in the stoller. during the week do lunch workouts or at night do Jillian Michaels 30 day shred. its only 20 minutes.
I am fortunate to have a gym at my job, so I will do weight training and tabata. HIIT training. 20 second all out with a 10 sec rest.
Also you have to look into your diet. are you eating enough or too much? try to eat 3 meals and two snacks a day. aim for 300 cal breakfast, 400 cal lunch and 500-600 dinner and 150-200 cal or snacks. choose healthy, clean whole foods.
good luck!

Congrats on second baby! I had my second child in November, and it's definitely been harder losing the weight this time. I have way less personal time, and I have also had difficulty scheduling in my workouts.
A few things that help me - I don't think of working out as having to be an hour at the gym, or an hour long run. I try to fit things in during the day. I take the stairs. I walk at work to see someone, instead of emailing them. I'll take a 20 minute walk at lunch. Sometimes I'll even close my door and get in some squats and lunges (ha!).
Walking the kids with the stroller has been my go-to cardio, when I can't fit in a run by myself. It's great exercise! I also lift the baby overhead, and I'll do sit-ups and push-ups when I'm playing with my kids.
I still have a ways to go, but I kind of see that first year post-baby as just doing what you can - because, to be honest, I'd still rather have a little extra weight on me and get more time with my kids, then be a gym rat again. But once the baby is 1, I know I'll feel the need to get into a more consistent cardio routine.
This. Make sure you are making healthy food choices and watching portion sizes.

I have a health degree and know lots about exercise/fitness and nutrition, so I can see what I can do to help you. First of all...congrats on the baby!
Now...It can be hard to find time...we all understand that. However, if you really want it...you HAVE to make time to get a routine going. 3-4x a week is a good start and a mix of cardio and weightlifting is going to give you your best results.
Do you have an On Demand program on your TV?? They have a great Fitness program on there. You can pick different things like, walking workouts, dance, cardio, weight training, combo of both, etc... They will bust your butt too and leave you sweating. Some of them are only 30 minutes long or even less than that. Best thing about them...you can do them whenever you want, no matter what time of the day it is. Also if you are off on the weekends I would def use my Sat and Sun to get a workout in so that you only need to worry about another 1-2 days during your work week to workout.
Nutrition is key too...having a healthy diet can be about 80-90% in control of your weight loss. Think: lean, grilled or baked chicken and/or fish, whole grains only (get rid of all white bread products, including pasta and anything else that contains "enriched flour." You will see that at the top of the ingredient list on food labels. Lots of veggies and fruits, fat free milk products and limit sweets and fried, fatty foods. Also...only drink water...just taking all soda and sugary drinks out of your diet for one year is proven to make you drop 15-20lbs alone. Coffee and tea is okay as long as its not loaded up with sugar.
Good luck...if you have any specific ?'s you can always PM me. :-)
