What age was your lo when they started sleeping 6 or more hours at night? My lo is only sleeping between 2-3 hours at a time - including at night. Any advice to help him sleep a little longer? Thanks!!
If I'm reading your ticker right you're not even at you EDD yet. Your baby should not be STTN at this point and waking every 2-3 hours is normal. Our boys still generally sleep 5 hours at the most although we have hit 6 and 7 a few times.

That sleep pattern is normal and to be expected for your son's age. We started getting longer stretches of sleep when we started feeding on demand (and she started cluster feeding in the evenings) around 6 weeks adjusted. Even our experience is very early from what I have heard from others. hang in there!
Your right- I didn't word it well. I understand that he is still young to sttn but am wondering when I can look forward to not being a zombie all day . And if anyone had any advice for when the time comes.
I didn't see a real change until 3 months old and now at 4.5 months she is definitely sleeping through the night. With my first she didn't start sleeping through the night until well after 5 months. She doesn't sleep that well.
DD is 3 months actual tomorrow. She goes to bed between 7 and 8 and usually goes 4 to 5 hours. We have gottrn 6 hours once. After that feeding she goes about 3 hours the rest of the night. she is not eating enough during the day to make it all night, but theres no way she can take more oz in a feeding at this point since she is a spitter and tiny still.
DS started sleeping through the night by the time he hit his EDD. We were waking him every 3 hours to eat the first couple of weeks after his 4 week stay in the NICU.
After over sleeping the alarm and waking up after hearing him moving around, we realized he woke up by himself after 5 hours and wasn't as grumpy. Two weeks later was his EDD and he was sleeping 6 hours uninterrupted.
Now he sleeps a good 8 hours uninterrupted.

Not a zombie? I'm still a zombie. I wound up with a terrible sleeper who still doesn't always STTN by definition (5 straight hours - he should be at 10 now). Not to be the grim mommy, but you just have to wait and see LO's personality. NB phases lasts a very long time with preemies FWIW.
My son didn't start sleeping through the night until 9 months. This was also the time he was finally weaned of the swaddle and he also learned to roll and could get more comfortable. We didn't do any sleep training before this time though, so it's possible if we had tried earlier he could have slept longer. He went from eating every 3 hours during the night, to sleeping from 7 pm-5 am. Within a month he was then sleeping 7 pm-7 am.
Now at almost 2 he is an incredible sleeper, still sleeping 12+ hours a night and taking a 4 hour nap on days he's at home. At school they only have a 2 hour period blocked off for naps.
