We're getting a kitty tomorrow (and an update on FI) :D

So, when FI went into treatment (if you want the backstory, I'm sure you can search for it), he asked that when he got out if he could get a kitten. Well, he got out a week ago and we've been adjusting to life as a completely sober couple. He's been sober for 98 days, and is truly loving it. We're obviously not ready to TTC for at least another 6+ months, but these are good steps in making our relationship stronger. 

Anyways, back to the kitten part. I have a dog and a cat (that are mine from when I lived alone), and he has always wanted a kitten. He had dogs during his childhood and his last dog he had in 2009 sadly got hit and killed by a car. The opportunity came up for me to adopt a kitten from a co-worker and I took it.

She's a calico 6 week old female. Totally adorable (I'll post a picture tomorrow) and we're naming her Tallulah. Tallulah Isabelle, to be exact. She came from a horse farm and is a little country bumpkin so FI thinks it'll be cute to call her Lula Belle. I know, we're dorks...but hey, it's fun!

So there's my life update (because I know, I know, I need to blog ) and my little AW about Tallulah. I hope everyone is having a good Tuesday

Aww, I love animals, and that name is super cute! Glad to hear things are going well with you and your FI, one of my best friends has been sober for 10 years, and her H had been sober for a while, then went back to drinking, then sober, etc, it definitely makes life tough to go through that, the fact that your FI was willing to go through treatment and stick with it til the end is an awesome step for your relationship!

Congrats to your FI! I have a a tortoiseshell kitten (going on a year old) and oh my goodness does she have "tortitude". Calicos tend to have a mild tortitude personality, so you're in for a treat After Farrah, I will never own a non-tortoiseshell cat.

I don't know the backstory, but I'm glad things are going well for you guys. If I'm guessing correctly from context, we have a long family history of similar issues, and I know how hard it is to deal with. Yay for the kitten! I loved the name Tallulah when I was little and begged my mom to make that my brother's name when he was born.
