Thoughts on Roxanne?

For me, its hard to get past The Police song, but I'd love to call a little girl Roxy.  DH and I love to surf.

 

Other girl names we're considering are... Everly, Clara, Carolina, Josephine, Dominque, Charlotte.

    I love, love Charlotte.  Roxanne isn't a bad name (although NMS) but I agree... when I saw the post I instantly sang "Rooooooooooxanne.  You don't have to put on the red light."

    Charlotte is probably in the lead for us.   Middle names for that would be Jean, Jane, or Anne.

    So did I. With Roxie, I sing the song from Chicago. "The name on everybody's lips is gonna be Roxie..."

    How about Roxanna? Then you won't be walking about singing "ROXANNE! You don't have to put on the red light" all day.

    I knew a Roxanne in jr high and she didn't care about the song reference. After a while it's like "real creative!" ya know?

    Awww I love Roxie (I like this spelling better because it isn't a brand).

    I definitely like Roxanna better than Roxanne. These days, though, with all the Knox, Cruz, Lux, etc., babies, you might be able to get away with naming her Rox (which would be weird) or Roxie.

    I love Roxanne w/ nn Roxy; it was on my list but H vetoed it.  He couldn't get past the Police song and Roxy as a stripper name. Josephine is my 2nd choice from your list.

    I recently met a little girl named Roxanne (Roxy). Her older sis is Electra.

    I like Josephine, Charlotte, and Dominique.

    My best friend named their baby Roxanne and call her Roxy and it's adorable!

    Not a fan of Roxanne. I have known 3+dogs and a cat called Roxy in my life. Clara, Josephine, and Charlotte are my favorite from your list. I had a friend from Mexico named Carolina and everyone called her Caro. I like Caroline better.
