I have just been scheduled for a c-section due to a previous dystocia. I found that it will be five days before a big festival weekend that we always like to attend and now I am wondering, would it be crazy to think that I could go and walk around for a short while sometime the next weekend? I have heard that walking helps to heal faster but I definitely don't want to overdo it. I have no experience with what to expect after a c-section so I was hoping someone could tell me if I am nuts or not.
Re: Too ambitious?
You might feel fine (I felt great 5 days PP), but I wouldn't take LO to a festival that soon. I'm imagining crowds, noise, dirt....
Also, if you plan on breastfeeding, that's not going to be an ideal place to work on forming good breastfeeding habits.

festival doesn't mean rides or craziness necessarily..with my son in the Moby wrap, and my jacket zipped up around him, I don't think anyone every knew there was a baby in there! I probably just looked fat
I went to a chocolate festival, so it was all about food. I sat when I needed to, and breastfed him in public, even. Much easier than BF my 8 mo old in public these days!
Staying in all the time just made me feel depressed and blah. I think you go out one day, chilll for a few, then go out again. I know it helped me.

Based on my last experience, yes, you're nuts.
Getting up and walking short distances at 5 days PP would be helpful for recovery. I did short walks around the block and ran to the store to pick up a few things. After about 10 minutes or so of walking, that was about it.
Walking around a festival would absolutely be overdoing it. I would skip it. There's always next year.
