4 y/o regressive behavior

My DD was fully potty trained by 2 1/2.  I can honestly say that from that point on she never had one accident (even at night).  Just recently she has been having accidents (where she will pee a bit in her panties to the point where she needs a new pair).  I did post last week about her also crying when we drop her off at school. I am 24 weeks pregnant and wondering if this is all related somehow.  She asks where the baby will go when she goes to school.  I have a webcam and see that she really does enjoy herself while she is there (after we leave).  She also cries about sleeping in her own bed because she is afraid.  Has anyone experienced this?  Any support or advice is appreciated.  TIA!

I am going through potty regresssion with my 4 yr old too. It started 2 weeks before our out off state move, and reunited withh daddy again after 3 months (in june). It got better, but it is still happeninng (less frequently)... I know for him it was about the big changes and just be assured things are not going to change. So have no advice, just try to remind him what a big boy he is and ask him to go on thhe potty. When my first went to preschool, he use to ask what his younger brothers would be doing too, and did not want him to think they would be having more fun... afraid of missing out on something

  • I had something similar with my DD a few months ago.  She didn't have accidents, but she was having to go pee every 15 minutes or so.  She also started crying when I dropped her off at school, and wouldn't go to sleep in her room without DH or I laying with her (after a couple of years of going to sleep just fine on her own).  It was a really odd onset of anxiety and there wasn't an obvious cause.  It got to the point that her anxiety was disrupting every aspect of her life, and we almost took her to a child psychologist.  Fortunately it started to improve so we held off on seeking therapy.  Now five months later she is pretty much back to normal.

Your DD's regression could very well be related to your pregnancy, or it could just be some other phase.  I think just being patient and reassuring is all you can do at this point.  If it becomes really severe, I would consider talking to your pedi about it.  Hopefully you'll start seeing improvement soon like I did with my DD.  Good luck.
