I am only about 4 weeks along, and am on prednisolone drops indefinitely. I am worried about it being a class C drug. Anyone else have expereince with this. Thanks!
I did call my OB and she said it was fine, but it still worries me. I was reading it left cleft palates in mice so I was just wondering if anyone else was on it or had been on it
Talk to the prescribing doctor- I'm assuming your ophthalmologist? Tell them you're pregnant and ask about the medication. All medications have risks, pregnant or not- your doctor should weigh those risks and decide if the benefits outweigh them.
If your OB and your prescribing doctor say it's more risky to stop the meds, keep taking them. If you're not comfortable, get another opinion. Or talk with your doctor about the feasibility of you stopping the medication (you might need more frequent visits, etc- I'm not familiar with the medication you're taking).

I'll be put back on prednisone in my 3rd trimester for Crohns. I have a Crohns-pregnancy specialist who uses it for most her patients and all have had perfect deliveries
