IF Testing - FSH, Estradiol, AMH, etc.

AF has arrived and I'm getting ready to repeat all these tests.  I was told by my RE that I can test all of these on day 2 or 3 of my cycle - but thought I remembered doing one of these tests on day 22 or 23 or my cycle - I'm pulling this from memory?  Do you ladies remember?  Also - after my failed IVF cycle they want to test my AMH levels - haven't done this before and not sure what this will tell me.  When you did FSH testing did you go in on day 2 or 3 and did you get any varying results or did they stay about the same?  I'm nervous to do this testing again - because last time I did the testing I was 35 and now I'm quickly approaching 37 and hoping the results are still good like last time.  Any help would be appreciated....thanks

I'm interested in hearing some of the responses, too, as I'm going to do my FSH testing CD 2-4 this cycle. I'm trying to decide if I want to go in today or Thursday or just have someone take my blood tomorrow (CD 3) at work and tube the sample over...

AMH can be done any day of the cycle.

FSH/E2 can be done CD2 or 3.  The rule was already Cd3 but tt really doesn't matter which day. They may be slightly different but in the same realm (ie if it is high, it will be high Cd 2 and cd3). I've had mine checked on cd2 plenty of times.

My RE does FSH and estradiol between cd2-4. I had it done on cd2 and cd4 recently and the results were very similar.  AMH, like McIrish said, can be checked anytime.

FSH, AFC and AMH all are used to determine ovarian reserve. 

Sometimes progesterone levels are checked at 7 dpo, maybe thats the other test you're thinking of?

For someone who is probably going to go get these tests at some point in the near future, what do those stand for and what do they look for? I'm waiting for DH to get SA test done, then will go get mine if his comes back normal. (though I suspect his will not be normal, I just have a feeling).

Thanks for that! I was also just proactive and checked what my coverage is with my health care plan, looks like my health care will cover 50% of any IF treatments - not awful.

Just an  FYI that you should be tested regardless as both parties can have problems. It's not like if he has issues, you don't..

Thanks ladies for all your help Abeille - Yes it must have been progesterone I was thinking of - thank you was driving me crazy thinking I was missing something.  Mrs. Nukem - thank you for the chart will be very helpful with the results. 6to82010 -  I couldn't agree with McIrish more - you both need to have the tests run - we thought we only had a MFI problem but judging by my failed IVF there are problems on both sides - Daniele  -  looks like we will be doing some of these tests close to the same time - I will have blood work done on Thursday - hopefully have results back on Friday - good luck with your tests

You should have your results in a couple hours after the lab has your blood. Keep us in the loop!
