Anovulatory Cycles

Wondering if there's any way you can tell a normal period from an anovulatory cycle period?

The last 2 months my periods have been lighter, no clotting, and more brownish (sorry TMI).

Without testing to know whether or not you Ovulated, is there signs in your period that you can tell?

Re: Anovulatory Cycles

  • If you're having normal-looking cycles, the only way to tell if you're not ovulating is to temp and chart. I know when I don't because my chart is completely flat over the course of an otherwise-normal cycle. My periods are never any different.

  • Have you recently stopped birth control? In my experience anovulatory cycles a much longer. I am on CD 6 after a 77 day anovulatory  cycle. I had to take something to jump start my cycle. some months my cycle sounds like yours.

  • Like PP said, no way to tell unless you are charting. Using OPKs can't even tell you. I had 2 positive this months in different weeks and I still haven't O'ed. My temps are the only thing that is telling me that I haven't.
