This is going to be a bit long but I will try to be concise. I think it's cute.
When Liam and I attended my aunt's funeral at the beginning of the month it was held in a Catholic church. He saw a crucifix for the first time and was curious about it. My cousin's daughter (also 2) and he were having a little toddler conversation about the crucifix and seemed to come to the conclusion that it was "A princess". Makes sense, Jesus has long hair, is wearing a crown, and has on robes (dress). I tried to get them to say crucifix but no dice...it was a princess.
Fast forward to today. I got Liam an Ariel doll to play with in the bath because he was playing with one at the pool yesterday and fell in love with it. When he had to give it back to the little girl who owned it he was so heartbroken to give up "his princess". I let him bring the doll to my mom's house to visit today. My mom noticed that he kept taking Ariel's arms and putting them straight out, just like the crucifix. He would stick them out and hold Ariel up and admire her saying "Oh...my pwincess!" I thought it was hilarious that he was trying to imitate what he had seen.
A toddlers mind is a fascinating thing.
Re: Funny (at least to me) story
Agreed. Funny & cute!
On The Wiggles today they asked "where is Dorothy?" and DD went and got her Elmo book, turned to Dorothy the goldfish and told the Wiggles she was "here"
I smiled
