8 week sonogram tomorrow - What do expect?

Tomorrow is my 8 week sonogram. Can you tell me what I should expect?

I feel like tomorrow is a really big day, that maybe it will really start to feel "real" that I'm pregnant, besides all the pregnancy symptoms I'm already having. 

 I'm excited and nervous for tomorrow.

granted it's been a while (3 years) since my 8 week sonogram, but I think that's where they check the heart and beat and show you the sonogram picture of this tiny little peanut growing inside of you.... granted I'm not 100%, but I do remember that mostly at each visit, they'll check for a heart beat, weight you and check to make sure everything is "normal", but I'd say, if you're curious. Ask your OBGYN. They might be able to let you know what will happen at each visit.

My experience at that stage it was done with an internal wand and not on your tummy. Just a heads up.

Yep. If you're with a good clinic, you'll have a transvaginal scan (usually means empty bladder), they'll check for a heartbeat, measure from head to butt to confirm your dates, and hopefully give you a picture.

Expect an exam including a pap smear, blood pressure, urine sample, blood work, and sonogram. 

Youll discuss medical and family history and any questions you have too

You may not hear the heart beat, as it can only be heard with a sono that will generate one before 10-12 weeks. But depending on positing you may see it thumping away!

If you don't see the heartbeat don't worry, they'll take measurements to make sure baby is growing on track.
