For those of you whose doctors estimated your baby's size before they were born, how close were they? And what was the weight they guessed and your baby's actual birth weight?
Thanks!

I had a growth ultrasound at 36 wks that found he was in the 94th percentile (7.5 lbs) and it was estimated he would be over 9 lbs at birth. He was born only 5 days early and was 7 lbs 9 oz so the ultrasound was way off.
I had one at 38 weeks and they were estimating him at 8 pounds at that point he was 9 pounds 4 ounces at 40 weeks and three days so it was pretty accurate. My doc. said they can be a pound or two off. She was guessing him at 8.5 the day I had him given how much weight I gained and the ultrasound, along with my size. I will say she pushed for induction because of the ultrasound and I was favorable and I did not want it but now I am glad she did it. Had we waited into the 41 week like I wanted he would have been too big. As it was his shoulder got stuck.
I had my growth ultrasound at 38weeks he guessed her to be 8lb 14oz and she was born at 40weeks and 3days and weighed 9lb 1oz so he was pretty dead on. He said he could be off by a pound or 2either way up or down
DS was estimated to be 6 lb 13 oz, but the Dr. said it was really hard to see because my fibroid was blocking his view of baby's torso/abdomen where most of his weight would be. Baby was born 2 days after EDD, 6 lbs 8 oz
I did not have a growth ultrasound, but my midwife estimated the weight by feeling the baby through my belly (which I've heard can be more accurate than an u/s if the doctor is experienced). This was a month or two before I gave birth so she estimated that he was about 6.5 lbs at the time and would probably end up in the mid 7 to low 8 range. My son was 8 lbs 2oz.
I think he was predicted to be around 8 lbs and he was born 6 lbs 14 oz. so they were off by over a pound. My ob told me that the formula most commonly used takes three measurements: the head size, abdomen size and leg length. If any of those are a little different than normal (like if your baby has long legs) it can throw the prediction out of whack.
DD was measuring small, around the 5th percentile, possibly from IUGR. Our perinatologist estimated she would be around 6lb at birth. She was 5.5lb at birth 3 weeks early. So pretty accurate.

The only ultrasound that I had was at 20 weeks and my son was measuring right on with the EDD at that time. When I was 40 weeks my OB estimated the size of the baby to be around 9lbs. He just estimated using his hands... I ended up delivering at 41 weeks and 2 days to a 7lb 13oz beautiful boy...I'm happy my Dr. was wrong. Lol

At my 39 week ultrasound, the ultrasound tech said she was 8 lbs, 3 oz. she was born 10 days later at 7 lbs, 11 oz. At the ultrasound, the tech said that she was very confident that the estimate was very accurate, but it obviously wasn't.
At 30 weeks he weighed 4 lbs and 4-8 oz (can't remember that part exactly). They said that he was measuring in the 90-something percentile and that he would be a big baby. They were guessing that he would weight at least 9 lbs, maybe more.
My Dr told me if I went to my due date he would be 7lbs. I delivered one week early and he was 7lbs 7oz so may have been slightly bigger if I had gone that extra week.
